Jewelry Rescue!

The thought behind Jewelry Rescue is making pieces that you have left behind in your jewelry box new again.  So many pieces just need minor repairs to be wearable again, and this is usually very inexpensive.  Some of these repairs include changing out the clasp; many people have a hard time with the tiny lobster clasps and these can be changed out to larger clasps or toggles, also we can add an extender chains so your necklace is more versatile in length.  Some need to be restrung all together, the beauty of this is the necklace or bracelet can be deconstructed, cleaned and either restrung as it was originally, or redesigned to update the look and or the length.
Recycle, reuse, renew & rescue!

Here are some examples of some dramatic rescues:

Time to clean out those drawers and do something with those beads you aren’t using. My cousin handed me this box of stuff she was never going to use. Shown here are 2 necklaces that I made from what was in the box. They can be worn separately or together as shown. I added some #sterlingsilver findings to dress it up and now this box of beads is something she can proudly wear. Do you have a box like this? Let me turn it into something beautiful for you to wear. #recycle #rescue #reuse #renew Email amelai1@me.com for more information.

mary rescue

This was an exciting rescue. This necklace had fallen into disrepair over the years. We took this hand knotted piece, unstrung it and cleaned all of the beads. We hand knotted this on new silk and created a brand new tassel. On this rescue we opted not to redesign but keep the necklace true to it’s original vintage beauty.

This is a hand carved Buddha from the 1920’s, it was on a very dark broken chain, and the owner is Hawaiian and wanted to make this a new piece that reflected her style.  She decided that she wanted to add some island flair, so we added fresh water pearls and large abalone beads with some Swarovski Crystals and Sterling Silver findings.

This carved bone piece was originally strung with square crystals and gold filled beads, the owner wanted something a bit earthier.  She chose Red Jasper, Rhyolite, Gold Shadow Swarovski Crystals and Silver Findings.  This is now a piece she can wear with most of her wardrobe it is fantastic to be able to wear such an amazing as often as she likes!blackonyxbefore
